Mr Akinola Ogundare

Akin began his well engineering career in 1996, as a Wellsite Drilling Engineer with SPDC & SNEPCO in Nigeria where he was Project Well Engineer for land and offshore wells (Jack Up rig), as well as challenging HPHT and Deepwater projects.

He joined BP in 2007 as a Senior Drilling Engineer and Engineering Team Lead working on the hugely successful Greater Plutonio Project in Angola. He then worked in various Drilling Leadership roles in Libya, UK, Australia and Trinidad & Tobago.

Akin has extensive experience in leading organizational change and Operations Management. Post Macondo, he was one of the Bly Report recommendation implementation managers across BP tasked with driving the implementation of BP’s Operating Management System as well as the systematic application of all the Bly report recommendations across BP’s Global Wells Organisation.

Prior to taking up the leadership of H-PTP Energy, Akin worked as Well Engineering manager for Lekoil Nigeria, an indigenous oil independent.

Akin currently leads H-PTP in revolutionizing the well engineering landscape in the Niger Delta with a ruthless focus on the bottom-line and growing value for all H-PTP’s clients.

Akin has a B.Eng degree in Chemical Engineering for the University of Benin and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
