Engr. Uzoma Ignatius Nwokorie is an accomplished Engineering, Operations, and Project Delivery executive with over two decades of proven leadership across the oil, gas, and energy value chain. A distinguished Engineering Professional, he has built a career marked by technical excellence, innovation, and a consistent ability to transform complex E&P challenges into safe, efficient, and scalable solutions - spanning both onshore and offshore operations.

His multidisciplinary expertise covers Process Systems Engineering, Operations Readiness, Commissioning & Start-up (CSU), Asset Optimisation, and Brownfield Project Excellence - areas in which he has developed frameworks and methodologies that are now referenced as industry best practice.

Uzoma has held high-impact leadership roles in some of the industry’s most respected organisations, including the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and Heirs Energies Ltd. Across these roles, he has led mission-critical projects, engineered systems upgrades, and executed turnaround activities that have significantly improved production reliability, plant availability, and operational integrity.

At Heirs Energies, where he serves as Snr Vice President; Engineering & Projects, he defines and drives the engineering vision for the organisation. He leads a multidisciplinary portfolio covering major capital projects, brownfield upgrades, facility expansions, and infrastructure modernisation initiatives across OML 17 and emerging assets. His work ensures that engineering outcomes directly support the company’s production aspirations, safety culture, and broader strategic mandate to deliver energy sufficiency for Nigeria.

Under his leadership, Heirs Energies has executed several transformative engineering and development projects - compressor upgrades, facilities optimisation, flare-out infrastructure, integrity remediation, and field development enhancements -that continue to strengthen the JV’s operational resilience and long-term value creation.

Uzoma holds a degree in Engineering from the University of Nigeria and multiple professional Fellowships and certifications from leading institutions in the UK, the Netherlands, the USA, and Nigeria. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (FCIISM), among other professional accolades across Engineering, Leadership, Education, and Corporate Governance.

A strong advocate for talent development, Uzoma dedicates time to mentoring young engineers, supporting knowledge transfer, and strengthening engineering capability frameworks that prepare the next generation of leaders for high-stakes operational environments.
