Mr Olawale Ajayi
Olawale Ajayi is a Registered Petroleum Engineer with about five (5) years of industry experience. He currently works with the NNPC Exploration & Production Limited (NEPL) as a Reservoir Engineer for Swamp and offshore Assets. His career journey commenced as a Graduate Intern - Strategy & Business Planning Analyst at Chevron, where he diligently honed his analytical and strategic skills, laying the foundation for his subsequent achievements.
He then transitioned to a Petroleum Engineer role with PETEX's technical partner in Nigeria, then as a Wellsite Engineer and Offshore Production Operations Engineer. These experiences collectively shaped his knowledge of petroleum engineering, production operations, and offshore asset management.
In 2022, Olawale received notable recognition as one of the top ten (10) Energy influencers by the Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE) The Way Ahead, underscoring the significant impact he has made on the industry. Within the SPE community, Olawale has taken on influential leadership positions, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to the development of young professionals and the advancement of petroleum engineering.
In addition to his leadership within the SPE, Olawale has made a substantial impact by nurturing emerging talents through his engagements at the local section level. He has assumed crucial roles, including Young Professionals Chair, Programs Co-Chair, and is currently serving as the Scholarship Chair for the SPE Benin-City Section and a member of the SPE International Young Professionals Committee.
Olawale's accomplishments include prestigious recognitions such as the 2023 SPE International Giovanni Paccaloni Young Professional Award, the 2023 SPE Emerging Leaders Alliance, and the 2020 Fellowship of the Young African Leaders Initiative. His academic achievements align seamlessly with his professional contributions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Port Harcourt and a master’s degree in petroleum engineering & project development from the Institute of Petroleum Studies at the University of Port Harcourt and IFP School, France.
A knowledge-sharing advocate, Olawale has authored and co-authored three technical papers in reservoir and drilling engineering, published in the prestigious SPE One Petro journal. His outstanding accomplishments and unwavering dedication establish him as a notable professional in the field.
