Jimmy D. Mugerwa is a distinguished African business leader and strategist with more than three decades of executive leadership and board experience across oil and gas, agribusiness, brewing, banking, and consulting. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Uganda Chamber of Energy and Mining, and is the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway to Uganda, where he advances bilateral cooperation and strategic partnerships.

Jimmy’s corporate career includes senior leadership and Managing Director roles at Royal Dutch Shell and Tullow Oil, where he led strategic operations, regional expansion, and complex stakeholder engagement across Africa.

He is the Founder & CEO of ZORAMU Consulting Group Ltd, which established the Industry Enhancement Centre (IEC) to champion Uganda’s local content development, SME empowerment, and sustainable policy frameworks within the oil and gas sector.

A respected boardroom leader, Jimmy chairs dfcu Group, Uganda Breweries Ltd (Diageo), and Mengo Hospital, and serves as an Independent Director at East African Breweries Ltd (Diageo) and the Private Sector Foundation Uganda.

His legacy of public service includes chairing the Presidential Investor Roundtable on Oil & Gas and cofounding the Karura Forest Environmental Education Trust in Nairobi alongside Nobel Laureate Prof. Wangari Maathai—reflecting his enduring commitment to environmental stewardship and inclusive development.

Educated at Makerere University and the University of Wales, Jimmy is also an alumnus of the IMD Senior Executive Program and a professionally trained coach through the Meyler Campbell Mastered Programme. He remains a passionate advocate for sustainable leadership, mentorship, and elevating Africa’s voice on the global business stage.
