Portfolio Business Opportunity Manager, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo)

Iyke Nnoaham is a distinguished energy professional and petroleum engineer with nearly two decades of experience in the global upstream oil and gas industry. He has built a successful career at Shell, holding leadership roles across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States. His expertise spans exploration, field development, asset management, business planning, and non-operated ventures.

Iyke currently serves as the General Manager, Deepwater Oil at Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo). In this role, he led the landmark multi-billion dollars Bonga North development, which recently achieved Final Investment Decision—Shell’s first major deepwater FID in Nigeria in over a decade. He also championed the Bonga Main FPSO Life Extension project and delivered multiple infill projects that had added to current Bonga production.

Previously, Iyke was Head of Exploration Development and Portfolio for Shell Companies in Nigeria, where he defined the country’s exploration strategy and led the exploration input to the NLNG Train 7 Gas Supply Plan.

Iyke holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on Strategic Management and Finance. He also earned an MSc in Engineering Physics from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. He is a Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) and is widely respected for his inclusive leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to align diverse stakeholders around a common vision.

Beyond his professional life, Iyke is passionate about the energy transition, talent development, and workplace diversity. He is known for his commitment to mentoring young professionals and fostering high-performance teams.

Outside of work, Iyke is a devoted family man. He is married to Linda, and together they have four children. He enjoys watching football, spending quality time with his family, and engaging in conversations about leadership, innovation, and the future of energy.
