Dr. Doku, General Manager Corporate Affairs of WAPCo is an astute multi-talented professional with over 35 years of extensive experience gained in diverse work environments. Over the last 14 years, he has been working in the energy sector in various capacities, gaining invaluable experiences in in Planning and Power Business, Commercial Services, Strategy and Project Management, Information & Communications Technology among others.

From June 2011 until February 2021, he worked with the Volta River Authority (VRA) holding various leadership positions at the directorate level including, Management Information Systems (ICT), Planning & Power Business, and Commercial Services. Dr. Doku was instrumental in putting the foundations of VRA’s modern ICT systems in 2012-2013, bringing innovations into the power business and establishing the Commercial Services Department of VRA.

Since March 1, 2021, he has been on secondment from VRA to the WAPCo as the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, adding to WAPCo Strategic Management Team (SMT). In his role as GM Corporate Affairs, he overseas the human resources, external relations and communications departments for WAPCo. His oversight of external relations has involved engagements high profile stakeholder to ensure very good relations with various governmental institutions across the WAGP countries of Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria while ensuring good collaborative and harmonious relations with communities through which the pipeline traverses.

Dr. Doku has a first degree in Civil Engineering, second degrees in Public Health and Environmental Engineering disciplines, and PhD from the University of Leeds, UK, also in the field of Engineering. In addition, he holds several professional ICT certifications from major vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco and VMware, and taken short certificate courses in inspirational leadership and negotiations, among others.
