Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) was incorporated in 1993 to develop Nigeria’s deep-water oil and gas resources. SNEPCo holds interests in four deep water blocks, two of which it operates: OPL 118 (Bonga) and OPL 135 (Bolia). Its venture partners are Esso Exploration and Production (Deepwater Ltd)–Exxon (20%), Total E&P Nigeria Ltd – Total (12.5%) and Nigerian Agip Exploration Ltd – ENI (12.5%).
